Colorful History

The modern crayon was invented by the Crayola company in 1903. But did you know that crayons are  ancient? There is evidence that crayon-like drawings were made by the Egyptians as early as 100 AD. The Egyptians used encaustic painting, which involved mixing hot beeswax and pigments. Very cool!

Try Crayons!

Beyond childhood nostalgia, crayons offer surprising benefits for adults. Their simple, tactile nature can be incredibly calming, providing a low-pressure outlet for creative expression without the intimidation factor of more complex art supplies. The physical act of coloring with crayons engages fine motor skills and can serve as a mindful activity, helping to reduce stress and improve focus. Additionally, their vibrant pigments allow for bold and immediate results, fostering a sense of accomplishment and encouraging playful exploration, making them an accessible tool for anyone looking to tap into their inner artist or simply unwind.
